In early 2026, Rockis Supply took a closer look at the geographic challenges facing the pre-insulated outdoor ductwork market. With years of experience working with leading name-brand products throughout the Northeast, we recognized an opportunity to bring that same level of quality and performance to customers farther west.

Expanding into new territory was a calculated risk—but one we believed was worth taking.

Over the next several months, Rockis Supply conducted extensive research into the demands of outdoor ductwork in the Texas market. We evaluated existing products, gathered feedback from industry professionals, and worked closely with our manufacturing partner in the Dallas market to identify the materials and construction methods best suited for the region.

A major focus of that research was the exterior of the ductwork. Outdoor duct systems face constant exposure to sunlight, weather, temperature changes, and the demands of installation and service. We wanted an exterior that offered both durability and long-term protection.

That led us to a sheet-metal outer shell with a silicone-modified polyester (SMP) coating.

​

The sheet-metal shell provides a rigid, durable exterior that helps protect the insulated duct system during installation and everyday outdoor exposure. The SMP coating adds another layer of protection, providing a finish designed for exterior applications with resistance to weathering, corrosion, and color degradation.

Together, the metal shell and SMP finish provide a durable exterior solution designed around the realities of outdoor ductwork.

Nearly a year of research, development, testing, and refinement went into bringing this product to life.
