As Rockis Supply continued to expand its presence in the pre-insulated outdoor ductwork market, we turned our attention to the Pacific Northwest. With the region’s continued growth, advancements in medical research, and demand for dependable building infrastructure, we recognized an opportunity to bring a purpose-built outdoor ductwork solution to another important market.

Expanding into a new region meant understanding a different set of environmental challenges. The Pacific Northwest is known for its persistent rainfall, wet conditions, and demanding outdoor environments. We wanted to develop a product that addressed these regional demands while maintaining the quality, durability, and performance customers expect from Rockis Supply.

Over the following months, Rockis Supply conducted an extensive search for the right regional manufacturing partner. We evaluated potential fabricators and looked for a company that shared our commitment to quality, precision, and dependable service. After a thorough selection process, Rockis Supply partnered with Rainier Metal Works in the Seattle market to fabricate our Pacific Shield Outdoor Duct System.

A major focus of the product’s design was water management. Outdoor ductwork must withstand ongoing exposure to rain and moisture, making the design of the exterior and connections especially important. We wanted a system that addressed these challenges through thoughtful construction and features designed specifically for demanding outdoor applications.

That led us to a sloped-top design with watertight connections.

​

The sloped top helps direct water away from the ductwork’s upper surface, reducing the potential for standing water to accumulate. Combined with watertight connections, the system is designed to provide dependable protection against moisture intrusion in challenging outdoor conditions. Together, these features offer a practical approach to managing the persistent rainfall and wet weather common throughout the Pacific Northwest.

By combining regional manufacturing expertise with a design focused on water management, Rockis Supply developed a solution tailored to the demands of the market while remaining suitable for outdoor ductwork applications beyond the region.
